The NBGR family lost one of our more senior alumni this month. Wookie Hughes was adopted from NBGR in 2006. When his owner passed away suddenly 2 years later – her son Hank and his wife Rebecca took Wookie in to their home and their hearts. Hank writes “He quickly became the center of our world and went most everywhere with us. He was gentle, kind and only wanted to be with you. It was a rare moment when he was in a different room from one of us. He loved the pandemic as we were both almost always home and he was rarely alone.”

Wookie lived to be over 16 years old. He was very well loved and will never be forgotten. Our sympathies to Hank and Rebecca Hughes for their loss of Wookie. We thank them for caring for Wookie all these years.
