In Memory of Stella – a NBGR alumna

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I post this, with tears that fall steadily.

Our beautiful and sweet Stella has crossed the rainbow bridge this afternoon with the sun on her face and joined her sisters Gretchen and Roxie and her brothers Sir Oliver and Mr. Milo. Stella was blessed beyond measure or I guess I should say that we were blessed by her.

In 2021 she was diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease and 2 benign tumors. One near her heart and one near her kidneys. After losing her sisters Gretchen and Roxie, she went into a state of depression and decline, however when Mr. Dash from the Small Breed Rescue of East Tennessee came into our lives (forever gratitude to Rhonda Moses Jones, Tina Rhea and Andrea Harper) Stella did a 360 and new life came into her. Soon after she had 2 new sisters (Ginny and Phoebe) and a new brother Mr. Dylan who adored her tremendously. As her health began to fade again, they all protected her and loved on her fiercely. This evening they also grieve her passing.

If you have ever experienced the loss of a furbaby, then you know how this feels. It hurts like hell. However, I rejoice in her memory and the fact that I know we gave her the best life, full of love and care. And I know she loved us. Thank you to Dr. Monica Webb of Countryside Veterinary Services for all of the love, care and compassion, especially today. I do ask that with all that has recently happened here in East Tennessee and Western NC as well as Florida – please donate to the National Brussels Griffon Rescue, Animal Rescues or your Local Veterinary Hospitals to help those in need. Rest in peace Stella. Furever in our hearts!
