In Memory of Lexi – 2010 – 12/3/2025
| In early 2017 Lexi #3437 came in to NBGR as part of a group of 4 puppy mill surrenders. She was about 7 years old and was very bonded with the other female in the group – Trixie. After vetting and some time spent as fosters in the home of one of our volunteer coordinators Lexi and Trixie moved to one of our long time foster homes. Eventually we decided they should be long term fosters as they had been emotionally damaged by their puppy mill life. Sadly – in early 2020 – Trixie’s health took a turn for the worse and we lost her. Poor Lexi had a hard time with this loss – but with the help of a loving foster mom she adapted slowly – and her foster mom adopted her!
On December 3, 2025 Lexi passed away. We are so thankful to her foster mom – Krista – for her wonderful care for and her love of Lexi. This precious girl deserved to have the second half of her life be so much better than the first half was. Run free Lexi – we are sure that Trixie was waiting for you with open paws. Krista will miss you. #nbgralumni |
