In loving memory of Tucker

In December 2011, our lives were forever touched by the arrival of a little Brussels Griffon named Tucker. What was meant to be a short-term foster arrangement turned into a lifetime of love and companionship. Tucker, at just about a year old, quickly became an integral part of our family, joining our pack of four small breed terriers, all of whom were rescues.

Within two weeks, Tucker’s charm had worked its magic on us, creating an unbreakable bond, especially with me. He was the epitome of a Velcro dog, his loyalty and love wrapping around us like a warm embrace. Tucker wasn’t just a pet; he was a once-in-a-lifetime dog, a soulful presence that filled our home with joy and warmth.

As the years unfolded, Tucker faced the challenges of living with mitral valve disease (MVD) with courage and resilience. He became a beacon of strength, teaching us about love, perseverance, and the beauty of every moment shared. On November 21st, 2023, after a valiant battle, the weight of the disease became too much for Tucker to bear. In the comfort of our home, surrounded by love, he peacefully passed away in my arms.

Tucker was just a month shy of celebrating his 12th birthday, a milestone that would have been a testament to the enduring spirit within him. His absence leaves a void that words cannot fully express. Tucker will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his gentle spirit, and the countless moments of happiness he brought into our lives.

As we mourn the loss of our dear boy, we celebrate the beautiful legacy Tucker leaves behind. In our hearts, he will forever remain the Velcro dog who showered us with love, the soul dog who touched our lives in ways unimaginable. Tucker, thank you for being our cherished companion. You will be beyond sorely missed, and your memory will continue to bring smiles through the tears.

Rest in peace, sweet Tucker.
