In Loving Memory of Flo Schubert
Our sweet Flo will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the good fortune to have been touched by her grace.
She was an amazing volunteer who wore many hats for National Brussels Griffon Rescue; she was an adoption coordinator, loving foster mom, transporter, financial supporter, and loving friend.
Flo had the kindest and most gentle heart. Always giving freely of herself to help wherever needed, whenever needed. Many lucky Rescues passed through her arms and benefitted from her care and kindness. She loved each as her own and fulfilled their needs until forever families were found.
Flo and her wonderful husband, Bruce, live near Austin, TX, and have been volunteers for two decades. Countless times Flo and Bruce helped with transports either to pick up a Rescue in need or help relay a newly adopted Rescue to meet their family. I can’t remember a time that Flo ever said ‘no’ when called on.
When we needed help with a puppy mill intake, Flo and Bruce were there. If it was hot, humid, and smelled to high heaven, Flo was right in the big middle of helping to get each fearful dog prepared to transfer out, all with a smile on her face.
Flo and Bruce were a big part of our Austin Griffy Group family making all the meetups. She always had at least one dog in her lap, most often two, and a huge smile on her face.
We imagine Flo being greeted by all the Rescues whose lives she touched along the way. She’s sitting on the ground cross-legged, her lap filled with furry friends who have gone before her and who are gratefully happy to be with her again.
